Disclaimer:

I'm not by any means promoting the I-Doser brand or company, I'm simply a user sharing his experiences. There isn't necessarily any concrete evidence that this works, and results may vary wildly between different users.

What is I-Doser?

I-Doser is a company that produces binaural beats. They market their products for many different purposes, most of which are normal stuff that binaurals get used for; lucid dreams, energy boost, chakra restoration, the likes.

What makes I-Doser special, however, is their claim to offer "digital drugs" that can make you feel high just by listening to it. The validity of this is disputed, but I know myself and several others do get results from these.

This landed I-Doser in the news a lot in 2010-14, stating concerns about kids using it as a replacement for real drugs. However, a verdict never could be reached on whether or not the technology is legitimate, and either way it can't actually hurt anyone.

How does this work?

I-Dosers are binaural beats, which basically just means playing two different frequencies (one in each ear) through stereo headphones to acheive brainwave entrainment.

A basic example of a binaural beat would be if you played 200hz in one ear and 192hz in the other, your brain should theoretically subtract the difference and tune itself to 8hz.

Wikipedia defines brainwave entrainment as "the observation that brainwaves will naturally synchronize to the rhythm of periodic external stimuli, such as flickering lights, speech, music, or tactile stimuli."

Binaural beats are a well-known method of brainwave entrainment, and despite their claims, I-Doser are not the only ones to use/create them; a simple Google/YouTube search for "binaural beat" will probably yield instant results.

However, it really depends on the individual beat/creator, as not all of these are created equally and it may take a while to find your favorite, if not just make your own. I genuinely prefer I-Dosers over everything else I've tried, hence I tend to stick to them.

Where can I find some?

I-Dosers generally come in three forms: .drg files for the computer software, MP3 packs, and the mobile app which frankly I'm not familiar with.

I'm not sure how Neocities would feel about me directing you to official paid I-Doser software/.drg files outside of just going to i-doser.com and buying them, although it shouldn't be too difficult to find with some research.

However, I can give you a head start; the engine I-Doser runs on, SBAGen, is free and open-source, and some .drg files have been decoded to .sbg format and are free to download/use.

You can find these here

There's also some of the MP3 packs available on streaming platforms (Spotify, Deezer, etc), and these even have music in the background! If you have access to a music streaming platform then this is a great source for I-Doser content.
