Basically mini-reviews. These are short ramblings about music that aren't substantial enough to be a full review.
Scarlxrd - ATXMIC-BXMB. and FEEL WXRTHLESS?
The rollout for Scarlxrd's next album Made In Hell has officially begun, and it seems the Lxrd has outdone himself once again. The screams are on point and takes me back to "old Scar" while somehow still sounding fresh and new (and I say this as someone who's honestly much preferred "new Scar"). FEEL WXRTHLESS? in particular takes me back to the Infinity singles, which was my favorite era of "old Scar."
Overall, if these two singles are a good indicator, this album will be at least a 9/10, and definitely an AOTY contender.
Sumerian Records feat. Bad Omens - THE DEATH OF PEACE OF MIND
Despite the apparent popularity of this album in the "metalcore" community, and me actually liking their last two projects I didn't care much for this one. Artificial Suicide and What do you want from me? are good songs, and actually gave me hope when they were released as singles. However, the rest of it... at risk of sounding like an elitist, it's no wonder they broke through into the metalcore mainstream with this album, because it definitely sounds the part.
Clearly this is a Sumerian Records album just as much as (if not more than) it is Bad Omens, and I'd rather Just Pretend it doesn't exist and listen to the self-titled instead.
