I will always deadname Wikia.
"Fandom" is a crock of shit. Fandom is a noun. A fandom is a group of fans, as in "I'm in the Breaking Bad fandom" or "kid show fandoms are really weird." It is not the name of a goddamn website.
"Wikia" makes sense. Wikia is a website that hosts wikis. There's no way to use "Wikia" in a sentence, besides referring to the website Wikia. "I hate the South Park wikia." What did that particular wiki do to you, besides being hosted on Wikia in 2023?
And don't even get me started on the website itself. I'm almost glad they changed it, because this shit would be an absolute disgrace to the Wikia name. They took away like 90% of the actual wiki stuff; or maybe they didn't, and it's just in some menu somewhere it would never fucking be in under anyone else's supervision. If you have old memories/screenshots/whatever on abandoned Wikia sites like I do, good luck trying to find that shit 😁
You go to the homepage of a wiki, and it's this weird comment section thing. Who the fuck needs this on the HOMEPAGE of a WIKI? And it's even weirder because you won't always see this, sometimes it actually does just skip straight forward to a proper index page, which I'm surprised those aren't also broken to fuck yet. (They probably are, I just don't notice because my computer has an adblocker 😎)
Not only that, but it also LOOKS like absolute garbage. Have fun reading anything on "Fandom" without an adblocker, because the page is more ads than it is content. Even once you've gotten those out of the way, they still took the liberty of sticking this ungodly yellow banner across the left side of the page, full of MULTIPLE buttons that take you to MULTIPLE pages of their dumb articles that nobody reads or gives a singular fuck about. You get only TWO buttons for wikis, which is the intended (and most in-demand) purpose of this website mind you, and one of those buttons is to CREATE a wiki.
How often are you really going to be creating wikis? Almost anything you can think of that you actually give a fuck about, already has a wiki. Rick and Morty? Has a Wikia. Trailer Park Boys? Has a Wikia. NBA YoungBoy? Surprisingly doesn't have a Wikia; but if you have enough time on your hands to write one, then I guess the button to do so is right there on the sidebar at all times! Mountain Dew? Has a Wikia. Peppa Pig? Has a Wikia. You get my point.
And what the actual fuck is "Fan Central?" This is new to me even at the time of writing this, as I've gone out of my way to avoid Wikia since these stupid ass changes. It's like that weird homepage comment thing I mentioned earlier but even worse. Aren't there like fifty sites in existence that do this exact thing but better? Who's using this shit? Excuse my lack of professionalism, I'm just really confused by this.
Don't you see how asinine this is? Whoever's decision "Fandom" was, clearly made the wrong one. I will always deadname Wikia, and you should too.
